Aboriginal stories through the PIX lens

The tabloid-style magazine PIX began circulation in Australia in January 1938 and was one of Australia’s most popular weeklies. The distinctly Australian content occasionally featured stories relating to Indigenous people, bringing attention to conditions on reserves in NSW. In 2008, the ACP photo archive, including the negatives for PIX magazine, were donated to the Library and have recently been digitised.
Indigenous curator Ronald Briggs will share some of the stories behind the people, places and events recorded in these images.
