Governor Marie Bashir Reading Room announced
The Library has paid tribute to Professor the Honourable Dame Marie Bashir AD CVO by renaming its major reference library in her honour. The State Reference Library will now be known as the Governor Marie Bashir Reading Room.

2014 NSW Premier's History Awards
The winners of the 2014 NSW Premier’s History Awards were announced at a presentation and cocktail reception held at the State Library on Friday 5 September 2014. The celebration also launched NSW History Week.

National Biography Winner announced
Tasmanian historian Alison Alexander has won the $25,000 National Biography Award, Australia's richest prize for life writing, for her engrossing biography The Ambitions of Jane Franklin, Victorian Lady Adventurer.
