Covers the history of homosexual culture in Australia with a focus on NSW activities and individuals; includes organisations, political and social groups in the gay and lesbian, bisexual and transgender community, and their contribution to NSW.

Home and family life

Covers facets of domestic and household management including cookery, childcare, sewing, household budgeting, cleaning and domestic appliances. It includes the structure and function of the Australian family with an emphasis on families within NSW.

Immigration

Covers the journeys, settlement, activities and contributions of migrants in NSW from European settlement by convicts and free settlers to post-World War II European migration; includes contemporary accounts of migrants, refugees and asylum seekers

Indigenous Australians

Covers materials reflecting largely European interpretations of the history, language, art and culture of the Aboriginal peoples of Australia. Includes documentation created by Aboriginal Australians about their life and activities.
