About the eRecords project
NSW Government funding of $23 million means the entire collection of the State Library of NSW will be accessible over the Internet via electronic catalogue records by June 2013.
The eRecords project will give clients and public libraries greater access to the State Library collections and services.
The community will be able to use online technologies to search for and find materials held in the State Library collections. Collections will be available 24/7 improving access for all citizens especially those living in remote areas.
Collection material will be easier to locate and retrieve which will reduce the waiting periods for clients wishing to access physical collection material.
Dedicated State Library project teams are creating electronic records for items in the Library’s original materials and Heritage collections. Electronic records for other parts of the collection are being purchased or created under contract.
