Colloquium proceedings
A billion-dollar asset of national significance is worth celebrating. The State Library of New South Wales will do just that over the next ten years leading to the centenary of the Mitchell Library in 2010. In 2002 the Library hosted a Colloquium, bringing together key Australian and international players from the research and academic communities to explore these questions:
- What role do research libraries play in the achievement of significant research outcomes?
- What are the challenges for research libraries in this information-laden, technology-driven age?
- Which collaborative ventures could boost the impact of research libraries and kick-start global technology networks?
Participation in the Colloquium, held at the Library on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 May 2002, was by invitation.
Information about past speakers and the full text of their papers or presentations can be found here. The Colloquium proceedings, including transcripts of some sessions, have also been published as the August 2002 issue of LASIE.
