About the Foundation
Since the Foundation was initiated in 1987 by the Library Council of New South Wales, it has contributed almost $8 million to Library programs.
The Foundation's objectives are:

Develop diversified income streams to provide sustainable financial assistance for the Library and its strategic goals

Administer prestigious fellowships and awards on behalf of the Library

Continue to develop the digitisation initiative Discover Collections which provides equitable online services to a variety of audiences both nationally and internationally

Attract and retain the continuing interest of the community

Grow mutually beneficial partnerships and membership programs

Attain funding to assist in the acquisition, preservation and accessibility of the Library’s significant collections
