Dr Alex Byrne -
Alex Byrne
Dr Alex Byrne is the NSW State Librarian and Chief Executive. He was previously the University Librarian and a Vice President and Pro Vice Chancellor at the University of Technology, Sydney. Prior to this he was Chief Librarian and subsequently Pro Vice Chancellor at Charles Darwin University. From 2005 to 2007 he was President of the world organisation for libraries and information services, IFLA.

Graham Bradley AM
Mr Bradley is a professional company director and is currently Chairman of HSBC Bank Australia, Stockland Corporation and EnergyAustralia Holdings (formerly TRUenergy Holdings). He also chairs listed gas explorer Po Valley Energy and Virgin Australia International Holdings and is a director GI Dynamics. He is Deputy President of the Takeovers Panel, a member of the Advisory Board of the Crawford School of Government at ANU and the Australian School of Business at UNSW and a director of the European Australian Business Council and, since 2006, has been a member of the Library Council. Mr Bradley was previously President of the Business Council of Australia from 2009–2011, Managing Director of Perpetual Ltd, National Managing Partner of Blake Dawson and partner of McKinsey & Company.

Peter Crossing
Mr Crossing is Vice Chairman, Investment Banking Australasia, UBS, and has over 30 years of experience in investment banking in Australia and Asia - the past 22 years with UBS. As a collector, he has a particular interest in the conservation of and access to, the records of European first contact with Australia, especially those relating to natural history. Mr Crossing is Chairman of the Foundation Board.

Currently the Chairman of Urbis Pty Ltd and a non-executive director of Premier Investments Ltd, ME Bank and FSA Group Ltd, as well several Not for Profits.

Belinda Hutchinson AM
Belinda Hutchinson is Chancellor of the University of Sydney, Chairman of QBE Insurance Group, a director of St Vincent's Health Australia, AGL Energy, the Salvation Army Eastern Territory Advisory Board, Australian Philanthropic Services, and a member of the Federal Government Financial Services Advisory Council. She is also the President of Chief Executive Women. Previously, Ms Hutchinson was Executive Director of Macquarie Group, a Vice President of Citibank, and senior manager at Andersen Consulting and she has served on many industry boards.

Samantha Meers
Ms Meers is a Director of the Meers family group of companies and is also Executive Director and a trustee of the Nelson Meers Foundation. She has served on a wide range of not-for-profit boards and is currently a trustee of the Art Gallery of NSW, a Director of The Climate Institute and a member of the Advisory Council of the Centre for Social Impact at the University of NSW. Previously, Ms Meers practised as a commercial lawyer, subsequently holding senior management positions within the media sector.

Mr Antony O'Sullivan
Mr O'Sullivan has over 26 years experience in investment banking, management and law. He has recently become Head of Investment Banking for Lazard in Sydney following Lazard's acquisition of O’Sullivan Partners. Prior to founding O'Sullivan Partners (in 2005), Mr O'Sullivan spent seven years as a London-based corporate adviser, specialising in cross-border mergers and acquisitions.

Maxine Rich
Ms Rich has specialised as a lawyer, academic and investment banker in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructures and general corporate activity. She was appointed a member of the Takeovers Panel and has served on a number of corporate boards including Federal Airports Corporation (Deputy Chairman), Treasury Corporation of NSW, Bulmer Australia Limited and Neverfail Springwater Limited, and is currently a Managing Director, Investment Banking at Investec Bank (Australia) Limited.

Emeritus Professor Steven Schwartz AM -
Steven Schwartz AM
Steven Schwartz is currently Oliver Smithies Fellow at Balliol College, Oxford. He was born, raised, and educated in New York before moving to Washington, DC, where he worked at the National Institutes of Health. He then began an academic career that took him to universities in Illinois, Texas and Queensland. In 1994, Steven was appointed Executive Dean of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Western Australia and, several years later, Vice-Chancellor of Murdoch University, Perth. In 2002, he moved to London as Vice-Chancellor of Brunel University. In April 2004, the Blair government asked Steven to lead a national taskforce on university admissions. In 2005, he led a UK national project on ethics for the Council for Industry and Higher Education. In 2006, Steven became Vice-Chancellor of Macquarie University in Sydney. He is Chair of the Fulbright Commission, a fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, an Academy of Science-Royal Society Exchange Fellow and a NATO Fellow. He serves on the advisory boards of the Asia Society, the Global Foundation, Universities Australia, the University of the South Pacific and the Centre for Independent Studies. He is the author of 13 books, more than 120 scientific articles and hundreds of newspaper and magazine articles.

Mr Thomas is President of the Library Council. He has over 35 years experience in the securities industry. Mr Thomas is Chairman of TAL and the Stockbrokers Association of Australia, is a Director of Heartware International Ltd, Virgin Australia Ltd, O'Connell Street Associates Pty Ltd, Grahger Capital Securities Pty Ltd, REVA Medical Limited and Biotron Ltd. He is on advisory Boards, Nomura Australia, Inteq and is a Director of Aus-Bio Pty Ltd.

Dr Vallance is Headmaster, Sydney Grammar School. Previously Fellow of Gonville & Caius College Cambridge and taught in the Faculty of Classics at Cambridge University. Dr Vallance is a member of the Library Council.
