We're open every day over Easter, except Good Friday, 30 March. Opening hours and services will change on Easter Monday, 2 April. Find our Easter opening hours here.
We’ve recently found a 1964 NAIDOC poster from the records of the Aboriginal-Australian Fellowship held in the Mitchell Library, Sydney. It is the oldest NAIDOC poster known to exist and features 12 year-old Rosie Clayton of Balranald holding a big koala on a visit to Taronga Zoo.
Rosie attended a Welfare Board Summer Camp in Sydney in January 1964 with other children from around NSW. They stayed at Narrabeen and also visited Luna Park - an article about the holiday camp was included in the March edition of Dawn Magazine.
The Indigenous Services Unit at the State Library of New South Wales would be interested in hearing from anyone about their memories of Welfare Board Summer Camps. Contact us at ">
