Harmony Day is celebrated this Friday March 21st. It celebrates the cohesive and inclusive nature of Australia and promotes a tolerant and culturally diverse society and is managed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship. Australia is proud of its multicultural society and this is a picture of immigrants arriving in 1948 on Empire Brent.
List of passengers arriving in NSW from 1826-1922 are held by the NSW State Records and have been digitised on Ancestry Library too. The State Library of NSW has a subscription to Ancestry Library and we also hold the passenger lists on microfilm. Australian immigration records 1923 onwards are held by the National Archives of Australia and you can search for some of these records on their Record Search.
