On this day, 14th June 1789, Captain William Bligh and the other survivors of the Mutiny on the Bounty, reached Timor, after travelling 3,600 miles in a small open boat.

The State Library of New South Wales holds a significant collection of items relating to William Bligh, including his logbook and personal items.
