A View of Botany Bay, from The voyage of Governor Phillip to Botany Bay : with an account of the establishment of the colonies of Port Jackson & Norfolk Island by Arthur Phillip.

On this day in 1788, the colonists prepared to move to Port Jackson the following day.

Some members of the First Fleet kept a diary to record their experiences on the voyage and at the new colony. Others sent detailed letters home describing events to their family and friends, far away in England.
