This thematic wall map provides an insight into Australia’s economy in the years just prior to the Great Depression. It shows the distribution of grazing livestock and agricultural uses of land; mineral deposits and mining centres; railways, cable and telegraph routes; shipping routes, manufacturing and other industries. It is accompanied by seven inset maps showing various social, industrial, agricultural and natural aspects.
