The State Library has just received a new CD-ROM entitled Norfolk Island Rev. Fulton Baptisms, Burials and Marriages 1801-1806.

Reverend Fulton was appointed Chaplain of Norfolk Island by Governor King in 1801. His Baptism, burial and marriage records can be found in the Mitchell Library as part of the collection: Sydney Churches, St. Philip’s Church register 1787-1825 D362 (volume 4a, Norfolk Island Register 1787-1806).

In this CD-ROM Cathy Dunn of Australian History Research has recorded the baptisms, burials and marriages of Reverend Fulton and also added further research into the people and families of Fulton’s lists from other references including land grants, church and shipping records and much more.

The CD-ROM will be useful for anyone who had a convict, free or military ancestor on Norfolk during the first settlement.

Cathy used the image "View of the West side of Norfolk Island taken from the West side of Turtle Bay“ attributed to Joseph Watling from Volume 01: New South Wales drawings (‘The Lambert Drawings’) State Library of NSW (Call Number: PXD 1098) for the cover of the CD-ROM. The Lambert drawings are on display at the State Library NSW until 11 May 2014 in the exhibition Artist Colony: Drawing Sydney’s nature. You can also explore the full collection here.
