Two maps of Camperdown Estate, dated 1841 and 1845, giving a sense of how quickly Camperdown developed in four years.

Both maps list land buyers and land owners of early Camperdown. On it you can see where Johnston’s Creek crosses Parramatta Road. The proposed tollgate identified nearby is a reality by 1845 as was Armstrong’s Boiling Down Establishment which was creating a stink in the near vicinity.

We hold thousands of maps of use to family history research. For example many of our maps show landowners, their allotments and the environment in which they lived.
