Pearson’s cyclist’s and traveller’s distinct road map of New South Wales 1902.

Joseph Pearson (1849-1939) was a keen cyclist and cartographer whose road maps and touring guides were very popular with cyclists and motorists from the early 20th century and did much to encourage tourism. In his Reminiscences from early life and including cycling and touring experiences (published in 1933) he estimated that he had cycled over 250,000 kilometres, much of which was for the purpose of gathering information for his guides.
