Mitchell Vestibule, State Library of NSW

What does it take to get the perfect shot? Sometimes more than you imagine.

State Library Digitisation & Imaging Services coordinator and photographer Bruce York had to be inducted into safety procedures before donning a hard hat and being taken up scaffolding, climbing metal ladders and going through small hatches to get this amazing shot of the stunning Mitchell Vestibule. Bruce shot this with a wide 14-24 mm lens at 100 ISO f8 and 1/3 sec on a 35mml DSLR camera.

Bruce says: “If I had to do it again I would send someone else”
