Portrait of C. McA. King, 1855

This miniature portrait depicts Charles Macarthur King, grandson of Admiral Philip King and brother of Philip Gidley King, a member of the N.S.W. Legislative Council from 1888 until his death in 1904.

Charles Macarthur King was a pastoralist, police magistrate, and later Resident Magistrate of Norfolk Island. He was a member of the influential KIng family and a grandson of Governor Philip Gidley King, third Governor of New South Wales.
