Budget cuts hit young people the hardest

Youthlaw have written an analysis of what the Federal budget will mean for young people, including:

  • no safety net
  • more expensive education and training
  • increasing the crisis in youth unemployment
  • reduced funding to legal services that help young people.

Youthlaw is Victoria’s state-wide free community legal centre for young people under 25 years of age, so their information and analysis has a focus on the laws of Victoria. However, the implications of the Federal budget will be felt similarly by young people in all states.

If you are a young person in NSW and you need legal advice there are agencies that can help - see the Find Legal Answers legal advice guide.
