Driving offences and crime

The NSW Criminal Court Statistics 2012 (published by the NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research or ’BOCSAR’) show that in NSW Local Courts 56,176 Traffic and vehicle regulatory charges were heard throughout the year. For the same year (2012) 694 people were sentenced to imprisonment for driver’s licence offences.

The Find Legal Answers website has information on cars and driving and also about courts and the legal system. There is good information available on motor vehicle accidents on the Transport NSW Centre for Road Safety website.

If you are facing a charge relating to a driving offence, there is a new resource available: LawAssist on Driving offences and crime
