To coincide with the Rediscovering Indigenous Languages Project, the State Library recently hosted an international symposium on the 26 and 27 August 2013 to discuss the role of libraries and archives in cultural revitalisation.
The symposium brought together local and international speakers who are passionate about the field of language revitalisation. Indigenous people, librarians, archivists, linguists and museum professionals shared their experiences of working in the field of language documentation and revitalisation.
Information on the Hidden Gems Symposium is available on the Library's website.
