This glorious example of map inspired embroidery was created by a Janet Berry in the early 19th century. It is based on the map of the world with all its modern discoveries, ca. 1785 and is given the title: “World with all the modern discoveries”. The embroider embellishes a map printed on silk. The second image is the work without it’s gilt frame. The last image is of the reverse. This work was donated to the State Library of NSW by a Mrs. Fraser Clark, 10 April, 1945. It has dimensions of 17 ¼ x 23 in.
