Sharing Information on Aboriginal Family History Resources in New South Wales

Early last month, the Indigenous Services team of the State Library of New South Wales (NSW) visited staff at State Records of NSW, Kingswood for a day of information sharing.

This visit provided both the Indigenous Services team and State Records staff an opportunity to discuss resources and records available for Aboriginal family history research. It was also an opportunity for each organisation to share information about current projects, and possibilities for future collaboration.

State Records went on to exhibit their recent acquisition, a collection of albums belonging to former NSW governor Lord Carrington. Within this collection there are 22 leather bound volumes contain hand painted dedications, photos and memorabilia from regional towns visited by the Governor in the 1880′s. See more on this here.

Thank you State Records NSW for your hospitality!
