On Thursday the 24th of July, the Indigenous Services branch were invited to visit the newly refurbished University of Sydney Archives. Nyree Morrison, the resident Reference Archivist, welcomed us upon our arrival and began to share information on the collections held at the archives, including, the AP Elkin; William Geddes and; Pamela Beasley Collections.
Nyree discussed at length the large scale indexing project they have been working on recently and provided insight into what she believed was some of the most important aspects of indexing these collections and the positive results indexing has had on people being able to access items held within the archives.
Shortly after we were taken to the back of house area where the collections are housed.
Thank you Nyree for sharing valuable information on the important work you and your team is doing at the University of Sydney Archives.
