Describes Choat's experiences in prison camps at Lille, Dulmen, Strafe, Munster II and Dusseldorf and his escape. The narrative, originally titled 'A bold bid for Blighty', was written during his journey back to Australia. Part of the European War Collecting Project (also known as the Soldiers' Diaries Collection or War Diaries Collection), established by the Trustees of the Mitchell Library in 1918
