‘I wanted to capture a sense of the place and the people,’ says artist-in-residence Wendy Sharpe. ‘My main interest is always people and, of course, that’s what the reading room and the Library are about. I love the juxtapositions of all the different people, all quietly working in there, and the different ways they study or read. But also the different ways they sit and the expressions on their faces.’
