Captain Patrick Loganc 1825

by Unknown artist

Patrick Logan is pictured wearing the standard issue NSW military scarlet wool coat with a tan collar. His epaulettes denote the rank of captain. He has a fine line collar with the points brushing his chin.

Born in 1791, Logan belonged to the 57th (West Middlesex) Regiment and was Commandant at Moreton Bay from 1826 to 1830. According to many historians he played a significant role in the founding of Queensland, however he was unpopular and considered a cruel and severe administrator.
