W. B. Clarke - Papers and notebooks, 1827-1951

Geologist and clergyman; headmaster, King's School, Parramatta, 1839-1840, with charge of parishes of Castle Hill and Dural, 1839-1844, and Campbelltown, 1844-1846; Rector of St. Thomas' Church, North Sydney, 1846-1870. He also made many researches into the geology of N.S.W. and Queensland and made several finds of goldfields. His son, M. W. S. Clarke was an officer in the Artillery Volunteer Corps
