About Drug Info

Drug Info is a partnership between the NSW Ministry of Health and the State Library of NSW.

Information is provided to the community via the Drug Info website, resources in NSW public libraries and public programs delivered by public library staff.

Drug Info is coordinated by staff at the State Library of NSW. Drug Info staff manage the Drug Info website, deliver training to public library staff, and assist libraries deliver quality alcohol and other drug information and awareness programs to their communities.

Public library programs

Drug Info staff assist libraries to deliver two drug and alcohol awareness and education programs to their communities. 

Know Your Standards

Know Your Standards is an alcohol awareness program delivered in public libraries in NSW.  The aim of the program is to provide community members with information and resources to improve their knowledge and awareness of standard drinks and the Australian Alcohol Guidelines.

Know Your Drug Facts is a drug education program and awareness campaign delivered in public libraries in NSW. The aim of the program is to provide community members with information and resources to improve their knowledge and awareness of legal and illegal drugs, their effects and the consequences of their use.

History

Drug Info has been providing accessible drug information to communities through public libraries and the web since 2002. Drug Info started in March 2002 as part of the NSW Community Drug Information Strategy. The service was developed in response to the NSW Government's 1999 Drug Summit.
