Entries are now open for Australia’s richest prize for biographical writing and memoir – the National Biography Award 2018, with $25,000 awarded to the winner and $1,000 for each shortlisted author.
Senior Judge Associate Professor Richard White said: “Biography is a deservedly popular form of writing – we are all curious about the lives of others. But it is profoundly difficult to do well.”
The National Biography Award is administered and presented by the State Library of NSW.
There will be an extended nomination period to allow for the Christmas and New Year break, with entries for the 2018 Award closing on Friday 2 February 2018.
