Author Talk: Luke Slattery

Luke Slattery researched Mrs M, his historical novel about Elizabeth Macquarie, widow of the Governor, at the State Library.   He talks about imagining her as a  passionate 19th century heroine and the risks and thrills of taking liberties with the facts to shape a different narrative about the past.

This Author Talk is part of Open Day at the State Library of New South Wales. Be the first to visit our new galleries and learning centre on Saturday 6th October. We're opening up the Library with six free exhibitions, interactive digital experiences, and a rich program of fun activities for the whole family. Come and celebrate with us!
