Independent Scholars Association of Australia - Libraries: conduits of culture, learning and connection

Kristin Twomey is on a mission to dispel the archaic view of libraries as 20th century book depositories. She wants to demonstrate their transformation into 21st century conduits of culture, learning and social connection. Kristin will discuss the role libraries play in assisting individuals to gather, explore, interact, imagine, build communities and support local culture.

Kristin is the 2017 winner of the Jean Arnot Memorial Fellowship, holds a BA (Library and Information Science) and is Library Coordinator for Snowy Valleys Council.
