Celebrating World Book Day

It's no coincidence that World Book and Copyright Day, April 23 is the day both Shakespeare and Cervantes died.

Here's how the Library is celebrating:

SHAKESPEARE ROOM

Mitchell Building
11 am - 3 pm

The beautiful Shakespeare Room is open and Library volunteers are on hand to answer your questions about this stunning space.

FREE DISPLAY

Macquarie Room
Macquarie St Building
11 am - 3pm

A free display of rare books including Shakespeare's four folios, a first edition of Jane Austen's Emma and various editions of Cervantes' Don Quixote

CURATOR TALK

Metcalfe Auditorium 
Macquarie St Building
12 pm - 1pm

Maggie Patton will share the stories behind some of the world's most iconic works of literature.
