Marking the publication of the keenly awaited Macquarie PEN Anthology of Australian Literature, this symposium brings together authors, scholars and editors to discuss the significance of Australian literature for contemporary readers, in schools, universities, and for different audiences here and around the world. Leading contributors will present some of their favourite works.

Speakers include members of the editorial team, Jill Roe, Nicholas Jose, Peter Minter, Elizabeth Webby, Nicole Moore, Kerryn Goldsworthy, David McCooey, Chris Cunneen, Elizabeth Weiss and Mary Cunnane; and scholars, writers and commentators, Imre Saluzsinsky, Robert Dixon, Elizabeth McMahon, Philip Mead, Carole Hetherington, Ivor Indyk, Chen Hong, Penne Hackforth-Jones, Chris Wallace- Crabbe, Alexis Wright and Ben Saul.
