Susan Mitchell speaks about ‘first ladies’ who have influenced Australia’s leaders as depicted in her books Margaret Whitlam and Sonia, Tammy, Janette — Stand by your man. Author and past Mitchell Librarian Baiba Berzins tells of an intrepid all-women safari to the Northern Territory in 1957, one of the fascinating stories from her book Australia’s northern secret. Meg Stewart portrays the lives and outstanding careers of two artists: Margaret Coen (An autobiography of my mother) and Margaret Olley (Far from a still life).
