Laughter is the Only Medicine: School for Scoundrels

1960, 97 mins

Digital restoration of a classic film with soundtrack.

Based on the Stephen Potter ‘One Upmanship’ and ‘Lifemanship’ books, hapless Henry Palfrey is patronised by his self-important chief clerk at work, ignored by restaurant waiters, conned by shady second-hand car salesmen, and, worst of all, endlessly wrong-footed by unspeakably rotten cad Raymond Delauney who has set his cap at April, new love of Palfrey's life. In desperation Henry enrols at the College of Lifemanship to learn how to best such bounders and win the girl.

Laughter is the Only Medicine series includes the following:

1. Kind Hearts and Coronets – Sunday May 6
2. Man in the White Suit – Sunday May 13
3. The Lavender Hill Mob – Sunday May 20
4. School for Scoundrels – Sunday May 27
