Lunchtime Vinyl Lounge

Past Event

Friday, 12 August 2016 - 12pm to 2pm

Sound curators from the National Film and Sound Archive are holding a one-off listening party in Sydney and you’re invited!

The format is simple: BYO vinyl, or choose from a huge selection on stage, share why you love them, or just listen to others’ stories. Discover songs you’ve never heard whilst re-discovering the soundtracks of your past – all played on a pure analogue sound system you may want to hug on your way out. From Kraut-Rock to K-pop, TISM to Tijuana Brass, The Vinyl Lounge is an informal, sometimes moving, and always surprising way to close the week, and jump-start the weekend.

Our very own audio experts will also be there share interested stories about the Library’s sound collections and answer your questions.

Bring your lunch along or grab something from Café Trim next door and bring it in so you can lunch while you listen.

If you’ve never been to The Vinyl Lounge, NFSA have created this playlist with a taster of the music played in previous editions.
