As we continue to mark centenaries of World War I, this lunchtime talk considers how communities have responded to 100 years of war and efforts towards sustainable peace.
Three community publication projects during 2013–2017, including Peace Works! Moving Beyond 1915 Remembrance, provide examples of intergenerational responses to World War I commemoration, and different heritages of wartime remembrance and yearning for peace.
Displays and contributor readings will feature original handwork, written and visual creative responses. There will also be items from the Library’s collection on display.
