Wherever Green is Worn

Past Event

Friday, 6 May 2016 - 6pm to 8pm

'Wherever Green is Worn' will see live musical performances and expert narration weave together a selection of songs from before, during and after the Easter Rising to bring to life the spirit of the times.

Claire Dunne OAM is an author, lecturer and broadcaster from Dublin, Ireland. Mark O'Connor is an actor/musician from Limerick, Ireland.

Together they have devised an evening of academic narrative, dramatic re-enactment and musical performances from some of Sydney's finest Irish musicians to bring to life events from before, during and after the Easter Rising of 1916 in Dublin.

Building on the success of their previous collaboration, "WB Yeats' 150th birthday celebration", 'Wherever green is worn' is brought to you by the support of Irish Consulate in Sydney and the State Library of NSW.
