Biography

David Makinson commenced as Director, Operations & Infrastructure and Chief Financial Officer in April 2015. He has over 20 years’ experience in senior executive roles in financial, operational and general management positions. A Chartered Accountant, David’s previous industry experience spans the financial services sector and, more recently, the community services sector.

What inspired you to take this role?

I have loved literature, history and libraries since I first learned to read. I am also an aspiring writer of historical fiction. The position at the State Library allows me to bring the skills and experience gathered in my professional career to an institution dedicated to the preservation and continuation of our shared storyline.
