Michael Caulfield is a writer, film maker, musician, composer and theatre director. He has written book, plays, film scores, choral works and screenplays and directed feature films, documentaries and IMAX films. Mr Caulfield’s work includes the Peabody Award winning The Great Wall of Iron, the Emmy-award winning Submarines: Sharks of Steel and the documentary specials, The Space Shuttle and Flight over the Equator. Mr Caulfield wrote, produced and directed the eight hour, Logie-winning television series Australians at War. Along with Liz Butler, he then conceived The Australians at War Film Archive, an epic project that has involved the filming of twelve thousand hours of interviews with veterans of all Australia’s wars. Michael’s books include The Vietnam Years, War Behind the Wire and The Unknown Anzacs. He also produced the acclaimed television series for the Nine Network, In Their Footsteps. He is currently producing Australia’s contribution to a Vietnam Veterans’ Education Center in Washington DC, and 100 short films for the federal government to commemorate the Centenary of the First World War.
