Biography
Vicki McDonald has been a member of the State Library Executive Team since February 2013, and is currently the Executive Director Library and Information Services & Dixson Librarian. Vicki has held a number of leadership positions, most recently at Queensland University of Technology and the State Library of Queensland. Throughout her career Vicki has been an active member of ALIA and IFLA, and she is currently the Chair of the IFLA Academic & Research Libraries Standing Committee.
What inspired you to take this role?
During my career I have worked in academic, public and state libraries – but it is state libraries that I find the most rewarding! I am committed to ensuring library services continue to evolve, and that we deliver collection and services that are relevant to clients and stakeholders. I am passionate about libraries, and feel very privileged to be a member of the team at Australia’s foremost cultural institution.
