Indigenous Services staff Melissa Jackson and Kirsten Thorpe recently visited Dubbo to contribute on the Portraits of Language project. The project is a partnership between Orana Arts, the North West Wiradjuri Language Nest and the State Library of NSW. Indigenous photographer Mervyn Bishop has been commissioned to take photographs of local elders. As part of the project, the State Library of NSW has been conducting interviews with elders about the importance of culture and language. These elements will be brought together in an exhibition to be held at the Western Plains Cultural Centre in 2017. The project has bee part funded by Arts NSW.

Recordings were undertaken at the ABC Western Plains Studios.
