Information about collection movements

We are now in the process of reorganising the collection to improve storage conditions and comply with work health and safety (WHS) best practice. Some items are being relocated within the Library and some to offsite storage as part of this process.

This is a long-term project which aims to uphold the Library’s obligations to provide the best possible environment for both our staff and the collection.

While collections are being moved, the retrieval of some material may take longer than usual.

Please also be aware manuscripts with an ADD-ON sequence (excluding the X sequence) have moved to offsite storage. Manuscripts from MLMSS 5500 onwards (excluding the X sequence) will be moving offsite from Monday 21 November through to Friday 9 December.  We are working to reflect the change in the Library catalogues.

During these movements we recommend you email us  before requesting items to confirm their location and retrieval time.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the delays and appreciate your understanding as we work to preserve and protect our rich and valuable collection.
