With Mike Colman
On a night in 1944, RAAF Lancaster bomber J for Jig took off from RAF Binbrook airfield in Lincolnshire. On board was a crew of seven young men whose mission was to bomb factories in Germany. J for Jig was never to return. It was shot down in the night skies over France.
Crew is about the seven lives on that aircraft. It is about the two young airmen who escaped through Switzerland, the one who became a POW and the other four who were killed. It is about their families and the children some of them never saw. It is about the French villagers who helped some escape from the Nazis and buried others. Brilliantly recreating the mission, it tells each individual's story—and how it affected those left behind both in France and at home.
