Step back in time and uncover the extraordinary stories of the exploration of inland Australia through analysis of primary and secondary sources. Experience the hardship of a journey into the unknown with Edward Eyre, Ludwig Leichhardt, Kennedy & Jacky Jacky and Burke & Wills. Investigate and respond to Australia’s landmark documents in this enquiry based program.

In this 2 hour program students will:

  • develop research skills
  • analyse a variety of primary and secondary sources
  • be immersed in the physical challenges of inland exploration in the early 1800’s
  • demonstrate their knowledge in a fun and unique way

Geography:

  • GE3-1 describes the diverse features and characteristics of places and environments
  • GE3-2 explains interactions and connections between people, places and environments
  • GE3-4 acquires, processes and communicates geographical information using geographical tools for inquiry

$230 for groups up to 15 and $355 for groups of 16 – 30.

Minimum Supervision Ratio

Kindergarten – Year 2 - 1 adult per 5 students
Year 3 – Year 6 - 1 adult per 10 students
Secondary students - 1 adult per 20 students
