Milligan memorabilia on show

On Thursday 28 June our State Librarian Dr John Vallance visited Woy Woy Library.Dr John Vallance viewing the Spike Milligan exhibition

Dr Vallance was invited to speak at the opening of the Spike Milligan exhibition space and refurbished library. The space was made possible by a successful Public Library Infrastructure Grant in 2016/17.

The refurbished library includes the exhibition space and a media room celebrating the entertainer Spike Milligan, his family and their connection with Woy Woy. The grant further enhanced the library with a new staircase for better safety, an upgraded service desk and mobile shelving to improve flexibility for delivery of a greater variety of events and programs.

Dr Vallance was in awe of the rich collection of letters and personal items from Milligan’s life on display at Woy Woy Library.

Spike Milligan’s daughter and nephew attended the launch.

Woy Woy Library is a branch of Central Coast Libraries.
