There is a growing volume of health information on the Internet, consequently there is a growing need for both the lay person and the library professional to be able to identify quality health information. These guidelines can be used to assess health information on the Internet. Please note that the following criteria are provided as a guide only. Not all criteria will be applicable to all websites. No checklist is foolproof and no website can replace the advice of a health care professional.
