You can find our family history area on Lower Ground 2 of the State Reference Library. Ask one of our family history librarians to help you get started with your research.
Family history groups can book into our Researching your family history program. This free program includes:
introduction to our catalogues
introduction to our eresources
advice on research strategies
an orientation tour.
We can tailor the program to cover a specific topic for you. The program usually lasts around 90 minutes.
We also offer workshops and talks on different aspects of family history. Check the Events page for details.
Use our research guides to discover relevant resources for your topic. If your research is NSW based, you will find the guides particularly useful.
Getting started guides
