Health Information Service (HIS)

The Health Information Service has been set up to help you find up-to-date and reliable information on all aspects of health—especially medical information—written in clear and accessible language.

You can start your research by going to the Health Research Guide link on this page, or visit the State Library of New South Wales and look through a range of books, journals, databases and websites.

You can also contact the library and we will help you with your research. This service is free and confidential. Please note that we provide information, not advice. This information is not intended to replace qualified medical advice. For diagnosis, treatment and medications, consult a health practitioner.
