Local studies

Local studies is an important service provided by public libraries. Public Library Services provides state-wide consultancy and advice on local studies library services for library staff.

Digital practice guidelines were written to assist libraries that are planning image digitisation projects.

Newspaper Digitisation

The Australian Newspaper Digitisation Program (ANDP) digitises out of copyright newspapers and make them freely available on-line with full-text searching.  This includes newspapers published in each state and territory from 1803 to mid-1950's.
